Sheri Sturdevant
Narrative

Sheri Sturdevant (born 1958, Idaho) is an artist who works in a variety of media including two and three dimensional forms, including oils, paper sculpture, calligraphy, illustration, copper sculpture and stained glass. Sheri has illustrated a  book of poetry written by Vietnam vets and has a number of works in private collections.

Sheri is motivated both by the natural world and the realm of fantasy. She has a bold sense of color, symmetry, contrast and drama. Her works are an exploration of both the real and the imagined.

Sheri has worked as an art and stained glass instructor with individuals with disabilities, and troubled teens helping them to express themselves through their relationship with art. She taught students to recognize the power of visual expression, believing that the unique differences in these special students allowed them access to seeing, feeling and expressing the world that was not available to everyone.

Sheri attended the fine arts program at the College of Southern Utah in Cedar City, inspired by the beautiful Utah landscapes.

Sheri Sturdevant currently lives and works in West Jordan.
